Also note that HSBC facilitates your direct tax payment through tie-ups with banks authorized by Government of India to collect tax on behalf of the Central Board of Direct Taxes (authorized bank). Tax payment made before 1.30 pm IST cut off time would be transferred to the authorized bank on the same working day (day 0). Online tax payment facility will not be available after the cut-off. Hence, the payments made after the cut-off time will be debited from your account immediately but the challan will be generated by the authorized bank on the next working day (day 1) for the payment made after the cut off time or on non-working days.

For all tax types having a due date for making payment, kindly submit your request at least two to three working days prior to the due date, to avoid any late payment penalty and interest as may be applicable by the Government of India.

In case of any discrepancies, post successful processing of the tax payment request, you will need to contact the respective tax collection department of Government of India.
