  • BillDesk BillPay is an extremely simple, convenient and secure way to pay your bills. At https://payments.billdesk.com/pb/ you can pay your electricity, telephone, cellular, insurance and other bills, make contributions to various charities and other institutions and even remit your subscription monies to various magazines and clubs. You can do all this from the comfort of your house or office, over the Internet any time, any place.

    All you need is a valid Card to make these payments.

  • What are the benefits of BillDesk BillPay service ?
  • Paying bills with BillDesk BillPay simplifies your life. Your payments are made quickly and conveniently, and you no longer have to track payment due dates, write multiple checks or balance your checkbook. And depending on the Card you use, you may be eligible to earn reward points or special discounts

  • How do I make payments through BillDesk BillPay ?
  • You make payments through BillDesk BillPay using your Visa Credit/Debit Card. Currently BillDesk BillPay offers two convenient services that you can use :

    • Pay Right Away Service
    • Register and Pay Service

    Pay Right Away Service

    This service allows you to make payments to your biller based on the physical bill copy that you have received. It is a simple way to pay bills. You need to select the biller you want to pay, provide details of your bill payment and authorise payment from your Visa Credit/Debit Card.

    That's it!

    Your payment instruction will be processed in a secure manner and the monies paid to your biller along with your bill details. Depending on the terms of the biller, you can also use this service to make part payments or interim payments to some billers (e.g. for your cell phone etc). The payment page of the individual billers outlines the flexibility offered by that specific biller for your payment, viz. in terms of payments beyond due dates, part payments etc. You need to make your payments in conformity with those terms.

    As there is no registration process, every time you want to make a bill payment, you need to enter the relevant biller and bills details.

    Register and Pay Service

    This service provides you with a number of bill management benefits. In addition to being able to make payments to your billers based on the bills received by you, this service also allows you to receive electronic bills and make payments against them.

    To be able to avail these services you need to complete a short registration process and only need to enter your biller details just once. Thereafter every billing cycle, in addition to the physical bill that you receive at home, you will also receive a summary of the bill electronically at BillDesk BillPay. You will receive email alerts informing you of the arrival of such bills for payment and will also receive email reminders for due dates and overdue payments.

    All you need to do is to simply login using the Login ID and password established by you during registration and authorise payments of your electronic bills using your Visa Credit/Debit Card. As you have registered your biller details, you do not need to enter these details every time you make a payment. A payment history is maintained for all bills paid through this service to enable you track and maintain a record of your payments.

    Both options:

    Provide a Receipt/Payment number upon confirmation of the payment; and are secured using SSL 128 bit encryption. BillDesk BillPay does not send your Credit/Debit card account numbers and personal data over the Internet unencrypted.

  • Do I need to Register to use the BillDesk BillPay service ?
  • You only need to register for the BillDesk BillPay service when you wish to use and avail the benefits of the Register and Pay service. There are no transaction charges or any other charges for making payments through BillDesk BillPay.

    However, you can make payments of your bills without registering at BillDesk BillPay, by using the Pay Right Away service. This service allows you to make your payments by providing all the bill details each time you wish to make a payment. You would normally need to have at hand a copy of the bill you wish to pay, to be able to enter the necessary details of your bill payment.

  • What are the benefits of registering at BillDesk BillPay ?
  • When you enroll for the Register and Pay service, you automatically enjoy a number of benefits.

    • Gain greater control over the bill management process.
    • View, pay and track your bills from one, central place. All your monthly billing information - at your finger tips, on one page!
    • Receive your bill statements electronically. You can see the amount you owe, the due date and pay the bill.
    • Get email notifications every time you have a bill that has arrived for payment and you get reminders for due dates.
    • Importantly, the one-time biller set up done by you ensures that you are saved the trouble of entering your bill details each time you have to make a payment.
    • Your payment history is stored online for a period of 6 months and can be retrieved by you anytime for reference or record.
    • There are more billers options available to you under this service - as many billers require a pre-registration before you can start making payments.
  • Is BillDesk BillPay secure ?
  • BillDesk BillPay employs the best-in-class security so that the transactions done through the BillDesk BillPay service are secure. BillDesk BillPay uses Secure Socket Layers (SSL) data encryption. Using SSL ensures that the information you exchange with BillDesk BillPay is never transmitted over the Internet unencrypted and cannot be viewed by unauthorized individuals. BillDesk BillPay uses SSL to protect users from unauthorized tampering or viewing of their account and billing information. This encryption is done using 128-bit RC4 encryption. In addition your credit/debit card information is processed over secure gateways that are certified by Visa.

  • Is there a fee ?
  • BillDesk BillPay is FREE!

    There are no transaction charges or any other charges for making payments through BillDesk BillPay. Please go ahead and enjoy the convenience of BillDesk BillPay.

  • Can I pay someone else's bills?
  • Yes, you can pay someone else's bill through BillDesk BillPay. However, to do so you will have to add the name of the biller/payee in your list of billers/payees and provide the relevant account information

  • GETTING STARTED
  • How can I pay bills using the Pay Right Away Service?
  • You can pay bills using the Pay Right Away service in three simple steps:

    1. Select the Biller you wish to make a payment to:

      First select the location of the Biller you wish to pay (e.g. Mumbai, Delhi etc). Then select from the list of billers available in that location.

    2. Provide the bill details of your payment

      Based on the biller selected by you, you will be promoted to provide your biller /bill related information (viz. consumer number, cycle number, bill date, bill amount for your electricity bill). These details are required by the biller to be able to correctly identify you and post your payment to the credit of your bill account. Generally speaking, you would need to have your physical bill at hand to be to be able to provide these bills details. Once you have entered these details you will be prompted to verify them and confirm the same before proceeding to make the payment.

    3. Provide your Card details and authorise payments

      After you have provided your bill details you then need to provide your Card details. Typically you will need to submit your Card Number, Card Expiry Date, CVV Number (the 3 digit number on the back of your card) and the name as reflecting on your Card. You will also be promoted to provide some contact information (email, telephone number etc), which may be used to contact you in the event of any problem with your payment. BillDesk BillPay processes the payment instructions. The Card details as submitted by you are processed over a secure gateway and authenticated with the relevant card issuing member bank. Upon successful processing of your instruction, your card account would be charged and the payment made to your biller


      You receive a confirmation and receipt


      BillDesk BillPay will confirm to you the outcome of your payment transaction. You will receive a confirmatory email at the email address provided by you. Every payment made you carries a unique transaction ID that can be used to track each payment independently

  • How can I pay bills using the Register and Pay Service?
  • Register and Pay Service provides you the comfort and control of managing a variety of payments at BillDesk BillPay.

    To use this service you need to first register for the service in a few simple steps:

    • Setup billers to whom you wish to regularly make payments or receive electronic bill details. Once these details are validated by your biller, from the next billing cycle, you will start receiving your bills electronically at BillDesk BillPay (you will continue to receive your physical bills as usual).
    • You will also receive an alert from BillDesk BillPay through an email informing you of a new bill having been presented to you on BillDesk BillPay.
    • Login to BillDesk BillPay and simply authorise the payment of the bills presented using your Card. You will also have the flexibility of making interim payments to select billers, even when no electronic bill has been presented to you.
    • Your payment would be processed over a secure gateway and your payments then remitted to the biller.
    • You will receive a confirmatory email at the email address provided by you. Every payment made you carries a unique transaction ID that can be used to track each payment independently.
  • How do I register with BillDesk BillPay?
  • You can register with BillDesk BillPay in a few simple steps:

    • Setup your Login Id and Password. The login ID needs to be a valid email ID and you can set up a password of your choice. You will need provide a few personal details viz. name, address, phone, mobile and e-mail contact details.

      You also need provide your date of birth and set up a secret question and answer - this information is used to protect you from fraudulent use of your BillDesk BillPay account. We ask for this information so that we have another way to identify you. If you lose your Password or your Login ID, we need to verify your identity before allowing access to your Login ID or letting you create a new password.

    • Specify the email address at which you wish to receive your service related alerts and notifications. Just complete and confirm these details, accept the terms and conditions of the service and your Registration process is complete
    • You are ready to set up the billers from whom you wish to receive bills at BillDesk BillPay and also start making payments to them..

  • How do I use the services once I register?
  • Getting started with BillDesk BillPay is easy.

    After you have logged on, get to know the site and the services it offers by clicking on the tabs down the left hand side of each page.

    • Add Biller
      Lets you add and set-up the billers you wish to regularly make payments to and from who you can receive electronic bills. Adding Billers is the first activity you need to do to be able to start paying your bills View/Pay Bill.
    • View/Pay Bill
      The area lists your current bills so that you can view and pay them. It also allows you to access your billers to whom you can make a direct/adhoc payments (without any bill being presented to you electronically).
    • Modify Profile
      This area is used to maintain the details of your BillDesk BillPay account. You can modify/update your list of bills, update your personal details, change your password, and change your alerts details.
    • Payment History
      This area lets you view online the list of transactions that have been made or attempted by you in the previous 3 month period. It also lets you view the payments initiated by you and that are under process.
    • Logout
      Use this to leave the BillDesk BillPay site. Always leave by logging off.

    You can use the links on the top panel of the page to view the list of billers to whom you can make payments and also to Contact us for any additional clarifications or support.

  • Which billers can I pay using this service?
  • You can pay many national and local billers and service providers through the BillDesk BillPay service. Typically you could pay the following category of entities. To see if a biller or payee currently participates, review our List of Billers. Billers are constantly being added to the list, so check back often.

    • Telephone - landline companies
    • Telephone cellular companies
    • Electricity companies
    • Gas Companies
    • Municipal Taxes
    • Internet service providers
    • Depositories
    • Charity organisations
  • Which Cards can I use to pay my bills?
  • You may choose from any of your Visa credit/debit cards. You may select one Card to pay some bills, and another Card to pay a different set of bills.

  • Can I pay bills after their due date?
  • BillDesk BillPay urges you to pay your bills on time. Our ability to accept payments beyond the due date depends upon whether your biller allows this or not. Most billers do not allow payment beyond due date.


    The biller specific terms are clearly indicated on the biller page when you are providing your bill details. Please adhere to them strictly. Where billers do not entertain late payments, any payment made by you after due date is liable to be rejected by the biller with attendant penalties.

  • By when should I make my bill payments?
  • To ensure that your payments arrive before a due date and to avoid late payment charges, you need to make your payment at least 3 working days before the bill due date.

  • Can I pay someone else's bill?
  • Yes, you can pay someone else's bill through BillDesk BillPay.

  • Do I receive reminders and alerts from BillDesk BillPay?
  • Yes, BillDesk BillPay provides you with a number of alerts to help you track your payments due and also the outcome of the payments made by you. As a registered user of BillDesk BillPay you can receive alerts on a new bill being presented to you, outcome of a payment made by you, etc. You would receive these alerts as emails at thee-mail addresses specified by you.

    You can setup alerts under 'Modify Profile' available to you on the left panel of the screen. Once you have logged into the BillDesk BillPay service using your Login ID and password.

    As a 'Pay Right Away' customer you would receive an email confirming the outcome of your transaction.

  • What are the risks I should be aware of?
  • You should be aware of the following risks associated with BillDesk BillPay on the Internet:

    Invalid payments: It is your responsibility to ensure that Biller, payment and Card details provided by you to BillDesk BillPay are accurate and complete. The payment will be processed according to the payment details you enter and confirm. If the details entered by you are incorrect or not as per the terms specified by the biller, then even though your payments may be successfully processed at BillDesk BillPay the biller may reject them. BillDesk BillPay is not responsible for delays in processing of payments or rejections by your biller caused by your failure to provide us with accurate bill related information. You will be responsible for any additional fees and charges levied by either your biller or Biller in the event of a declined BillDesk BillPay payment. In the event of a declined payment, your bill will remain unpaid.

  • Should I continue to pay bills from a particular biller until I receive my first online bill from that biller?
  • Yes. After you sign up for the BillDesk BillPay service, please continue paying your bills as you normally do until you receive your electronic bill at BillDesk BillPay. Most billers send electronic bills as a part of their normal billing cycles, so you should receive you electronic bill at about the same time each month as you received your paper bill.

  • What is a 'biller friendly name' and 'biller short name'?
  • A 'Biller friendly name' is how the biller is usually referred to commonly by the public and users at large (viz. Vodafone is the Biller Friendly Name for 'Vodafone Essar Limited' or MTNL is the Biller Friendly name for Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited). When you add a biller or make a payment to a biller the BillDesk BillPay service refers to the biller using both the full name and the biller friendly name, for ease of identification.

    When you set up your biller using the Register and Pay service you are prompted to add a 'Biller Short Name'. A 'Biller Short Name' is how you would like to refer to the biller to whom you are making a payment (viz. 02226345646 - 'home phone' 02226987393 - 'office phone'). It is like a nickname that helps you identify the biller easily incase you are receiving more than one bill from that particular biller.

  • What information do I need to provide during registration?
  • When you register with the BillDesk BillPay service, you first setup your login Id and password. The login ID needs to be a valid email ID and you can setup a password of your choice.


    You then provide your name, address, phone and email contact details, your date of birth and set up a secret question and answer.

    You can also specify the e-mail address at which you wish to receive your service related alerts and notifications.

  • Why do you need my date of birth and a secret question and answer to be setup?
  • This information is used to protect you from fraudulent use of your BillDesk BillPay account. We ask for this information so that we have another way to identify you. If you lose your password, we need to verify your identity before issuing you with a new password.

  • What if I made an error entering my date of birth during registration and did not realise until after I confirmed the information?
  • Your Date of Birth is used to identify you. For your security, once you have confirmed your personal information, it cannot be changed in BillDesk BillPay. To change this information, cancel the registration and re-register with the correct information.

  • How do I use the services once I register?
  • Getting started with BillDesk BillPay is easy. After you have registered with the service, all you need to do is to enter your Login ID and password to gain entry to the BillDesk BillPay services.

    After you have logged on, get to know the site and the services it offers by clicking on the tabs down the right hand side of each page.

    Add Biller

  • I have lost the Login ID and/or password I selected during registration. What should I do?
  • Your Login ID is the e-mail address that you would have specified as your Login ID at the time of registration. For your account security purposes, BillDesk BillPay will necessary require you to remember your Login ID. Failure to correctly remember this ID or its usage in association with the account password will render your account inaccessible.

    If you have forgotten your password, BillDesk BillPay will assist you with the set up of a new password. Go to the BillDesk BillPay Web site (https://payments.billdesk.com/pb/) then click on the Forgot Password Link. Fill in the verification information that BillDesk BillPay requires to identify you and then click on submit. BillDesk BillPay will automatically assign a new password and mail it to your E-mail address. Failure to provide the verification information accurately would prevent you form receiving the new password and may render your account inaccessible.

  • Will I be charged for the Registration?
  • BillDesk BillPay is FREE!

  • How can I get a copy of the BillDesk BillPay Terms and Conditions?
  • Click this link to view the BillDesk BillPay Service Terms and Conditions. You can print the Terms and Conditions page by clicking the Print icon on your browser's Tool bar, or by selecting the Print function from your browser's File menu.

  • Should I continue to pay my physical bill from a particular biller until I receive my first electronic bill from that biller?
  • Yes. After you sign up for the BillDesk BillPay service, continue paying your physical bill as usual until you receive your electronic bill through BillDesk BillPay. If you have already paid your physical bill and your first online bill is a duplicate, you should file that electronic bill and pay your next electronic bill using BillDesk BillPay.

    Most billers send electronic bills as a part of their normal billing cycle, so you should receive you electronic bill at about the same time each month as you receive your physical bill.

  • Will I still receive paper bills after I begin receiving electronic bills through BillDesk BillPay?
  • Yes. You will continue to receive paper bills as you currently do.

  • What will I receive from this service?
  • After you register to receive bills online and have added your biller accounts you will receive electronic bills, notifications and reminders.

    Electronic bills are a summary copy of your physical bills and will contain the basic bill details viz. bill reference number, bill amount, due date, etc.

    Notifications are email messages sent to you by informing you of the arrival of new bills and in confirmation of the payments made by you through the service.

    You are also sent e-mail Reminders when you have bills that need immediate attention owing to the proximity of the bill due date.

    In addition compared to the Pay Right Away service, you gain access to a large number of billers to whom you can make payments.

  • Do I need to contact my biller/payee for using BillDesk BillPay?
  • No, you do not have to contact your biller for using BillDesk BillPay. Just make your payments through BillDesk BillPay and relax! We'll take it from there.

  • How do I register to receive an electronic bill?
  • You need to enroll for the Register and Pay service to receive electronic bills. After you have registered you can Login to the service and Add Billers For step-by-step instructions on how to register to receive an electronic bill, refer to the 'Help Topics' in the 'Help' section of the service, under the following section: How do I Update the List of Bills I Pay.

  • How many billers can I select?
  • There is no limit to the number of billers you can select from the list of participating billers.

  • What if I have multiple accounts with a biller? Can I pay all my bills from that biller through BillDesk BillPay?
  • Yes. You can pay as many bills as you have with any biller. For example, if you have two houses with the same electricity provider, you can pay the electricity bill of both the houses through this service. The meter number or the account number that you provide as part of the bill details differentiates the accounts.

  • Do I have to pay the entire bill amount?
  • You need to make a payment either in full or in part depending upon whether the biller provides you with that facility. For instance currently, you can pay your Vodafone bill in part, but need to pay your MTNL bill in full. The specific terms with respect to each biller are clearly indicated on the biller page where you submit your bill details. Please read them carefully and adhere to them strictly.

  • Can I pay bills after their due date?
  • BillDesk BillPay urges you to pay your bills on time. Our ability to accept payments beyond the due date depends upon whether your biller allows this or not. Most billers do not allow payment beyond due date. The biller specific terms are clearly indicated on the biller page when you are providing your bill details. Please adhere to them strictly.   • How will I know that I have received a bill from my biller at BillDesk BillPay?
  • If you have opted to receive alerts from BillDesk BillPay, you will be notified by email when a new bill arrives. When you log on to the BillDesk BillPay web site, you will see the new bills listed under 'View/Pay Bills'. In case you have not opted to receive the alert, then you will know of your bill only when you log in to the BillDesk BillPay site and check for new bills under the 'View/Pay Bills' link.

  • Will my biller send me the bill at the usual time?
  • You can expect to receive your electronic bill at approximately the same time of the month/quarter as you received the physical bill.

  • How will I find out when new billers start offering bill payment through BillDesk BillPay?
  • BillDesk BillPay provides a list of participating billers on its site. You can find out when new billers join the service by clicking the 'Biller List' link on the Home page of the BillDesk BillPay Web site. This page lists all the billers that can be paid through the BillDesk BillPay service. Registered users who have opted to receive e-mail alerts will also be notified by e-mail when a new biller joins the service. The alerts service is optional and can be turned on or off through the Change Alerts page of the My Profile section of the Web site.

  • Can I make a payment to a biller who is not on your biller list?
  • No. At this time you can only make payments to billers who are participating in the BillDesk BillPay service.

  • What if one of my billers ends participation in the BillDesk BillPay service?
  • In the unlikely event that any of your biller ends participation in the BillDesk BillPay service you receive an email message informing you about such change. You will then need to make payments to the biller through the traditional / alternative payments channels offered by the biller.

  • After I add a new biller, how long will it take for the service to be activated in respect of that biller?
  • When you add a new biller, BillDesk BillPay forwards such details to your biller for verification and activation of the electronic bills facility. Biller policies vary, but most will process your registration within a period ranging between 4 days to three weeks. After such verification and activation you will be able to receive messages from the biller. You will then receive your first electronic bill during the next billing cycle. Billers will continue to send you your physical copy of the bill as usual.

  • Can I pay one of my online bills in person?
  • Yes you can pay any of your online bills using the traditional channels. Registering for or using BillDesk BillPay does not in any way restrict you from making your payments in person.

  • How do I stop receiving an electronic bill?
  • To stop receiving an electronic bill, simply delete the biller from the list of billers setup by you. Once you login to the BillDesk BillPay service, use 'Modify Profile' on the left panel, access your registered biller list through the 'View/Change my Billers' option, select the biller you wish to de-register and simply delete the biller registration. You will stop receiving your electronic bills as soon as the biller updates the information, which would typically be form the next billing cycle.

  • AUTO PAY SERVICE
  • How do I enable Auto Pay for a biller?
  • Auto Pay can be enabled on Card by using the 'Set/Modify Auto Pay' option and click on 'Set' against the registered biller. You can also enable Auto Pay for a biller at the end of the Biller Registration Process.

    Auto Pay will be effective from the next bill uploaded by the biller. For bills which have already been presented, please go to the View/Pay Bill page to make a payment.

  • Can I set up Auto Pay for all types of biller?
  • No, Auto Pay can be set up for presentment, presentment and payment type of billers.For 'Presentment' and 'Presentment & Payment' type of billers, you will be given the option to pay the entire bill amount or set an Auto Pay limit. Presented bills will be paid as per the limit set by you.

    Payment only billers are currently not available for Auto Pay service.

  • When will bills setup for Auto Pay be scheduled for payment?
  • Upon receiving a bill, Billdesk BillPay will immediately schedule the bill for payment. The bill will be paid four working days before the bill due date. All bills scheduled for payment can be viewed and stopped by going to the on the 'Manage Scheduled Bills' page.

  • How can I delete a bill scheduled for Auto Pay?
  • Simply Click on �Delete� against the bill scheduled for Auto Pay on the 'Manage Scheduled Bills' page. The bill will then move from the 'Manage Scheduled Bills' page to the 'View/Pay Bills page'.

  • If I delete a scheduled bill, will I be able to make the payment through Billdesk BillPay?
  • Yes, once you delete the scheduled bill it will move to the 'View/Pay Bills' page. You can pay your bills appearing on the �View/pay Bills� page up to 3 days prior to the due date.

  • What is an Auto Pay Limit? If my bill amount exceeds the Auto Pay limit, will the bill get processed?
  • Auto Pay Limit is an amount specified by you, if a bill is presented for a payable amount higher than the Auto Pay Limit it will not be processed for payment.

    e.g. if you have set an Auto Pay Limit of Rs. 500 for a particular biller, and the bill presented to you is Rs 510 - the bill will not get processed automatically.

    Such bills can be paid by going to the 'View/Pay Bills' page up to three days prior to the bill due date.

  • How many days prior to the due date are bills processed through Auto Pay?
  • Bills setup for Auto Pay will be processed 7 days prior to the due date through Auto Pay.

  • Will I receive any alerts for auto payments?
  • Yes, you will receive SMS and Email alerts for Auto Pay when the bill is scheduled for Auto Pay and after it is processed for payment.

  • How can I modify the Auto Pay details set for a biller?
  • You can modify the details of a biller setup for Auto Pay biller by clicking going to the �Modify/Delete Auto Pay� page and clicking on the 'Modify' button against the biller you wish to edit the details for.

  • Does Auto pay work on all cards?
  • Auto pay will work for all Cards which are enabled for Standing Instruction payments by the card issuing bank. Please get in touch with your card issuing bank to confirm if you card is enabled.

  • What is recharge facility used for?
  • Recharge on BillDesk BillPay is used for recharging your prepaid mobile, data card or DTH account instantly.

  • How do I recharge my prepaid mobile, data card or DTH account?

  • The process of recharging is hassle free and instantaneous. You can top up your prepaid mobile, data card or DTH account from the comfort of your home or office. Besides there are no charges for using BillDesk BillPay.

  • When will the prepaid mobile, data card or DTH account get recharged?
  • Upon successful debit of your account, the recharge will take place instantly, provided the recharge details are entered correctly.

  • Is there any confirmation that I will receive post debit of my account for recharge?
  • Your card issuing bank will usually send you an alert on payment success (when your account is debited) or payment failure (in case of payment failure) to your preferred email ID and mobile number registered with the bank. Additionally, upon successful recharge, your mobile, data card or DTH operator will also send the confirmation of recharge through SMS. In case you do not receive any confirmation, please check with your operator.

  • Under what circumstances will recharge not be successful?
  • Few of the common reasons for recharge failure are as below (the list below is not exhaustive):

    • Non-existent mobile, data card or DTH account number
    • Post-paid number entered instead of prepaid
    • Prepaid mobile, data card or DTH account number that does not pertain to the chosen operator
    • Incorrect top-up amount
  • Is there any charge for this service?
  • BillDesk BillPay is a free service.

  • What will happen if I enter an incorrect mobile, data card or DTH account/subscriber number?
  • Once the transaction is made, your request for recharge is sent to the operator. If the mobile, data card or DTH number is not available with the operator, the recharge will fail and refunds will be processed within 2 working days. However, if the mobile, data card or DTH number provided is available with the operator, the recharge will be carried out successfully, even if incorrect details are entered by you; and no refunds will be processed for successful transactions.

  • MAKING PAYMENTS
  • Who can I pay using BillDesk BillPay?
  • You can make payments to any biller who participates in the BillDesk BillPay service. Just refer to the List of billers on the home page to see the participating billers who you can pay.

  • How many billers can I pay through this service?
  • There is no limit to the number of billers you can select from the list of participating billers.

  • Is there a limit on the size of a payment I can make?
  • BillDesk BillPay sets a limit of Rs.10,000 on any one payment you can make on a single transaction on a credit/debit card.

  • How are payments processed?
  • You payments are processed immediately on your providing the Card details and clicking on the 'submit' button. Upon this submission the service will send your payment to the financial institution as you wait. A processing screen is displayed and you cannot cancel the payment at this stage. You will normally receive an approved or declined response from your financial institution within 15 - 25 seconds.

    If your payment is successful, you will be informed that your payment has been accepted and be given a payment identification number.

    If your payment is unsuccessful, the service will inform you why your financial institution has declined your payment.

  • When should I make a payment so that it reaches a biller before its due date?
  • Ideally you should make your payment at least 3 working days before the bill due date for the payment to reach your biller in time. BillDesk BillPay would urge you not to wait till such last date, but make the payment well in time to avoid any biller-service disruption or delayed payment charges.

  • How do I stop a payment after it has been made?
  • BillDesk BillPay has no way to stop a payment after it has been processed. You should contact your biller.

  • When will my payment account be debited for my payment?
  • When you are making a payment using a credit/debit card your account is debited as soon as an approved response is received from your financial institution.

  • How can I prove I made a payment?
  • You can track your payments if you need to provide proof of a payment. Your bank or credit card statement will show the charge to your account. The statement will display 'BillDesk BillPayee' and an identifiable part of the biller name (viz. Airtel Cell, when you make payments to Bharti Cellular Limited).

    In addition you would receive an instant online receipt at the time of making the payment. You can store or print this receipt for your reference. You can use the unique transaction ID printed on the receipt to track your payment and resolve any queries or disputes.

  • What if I disagree with a BillDesk BillPay payment that is shown on my statement?
  • If you disagree with a payment that is shown on your statement, contact BillDesk BillPay Customer Support by sending an email to billpay@billdesk.com

  • How can I access information about the bill payments made by me?
  • As a registered user of BillDesk BillPay you can access the full list of the payments made by you over the previous six months. Simply Login in to your BillDesk BillPay account, select the Payment History from the left panel and view the list of your Past Payments. You can access these details online in respect of the previous six months payments.

    In respect of the electronic bills received by you, in case you wish to print them you can do so by going to that page, then clicking your browser's Print button. You can then file these printouts.

    For every payment made by you, whether through the Register and Pay service or Pay Right Away service, you anyways will receive confirmation of the payment at the email address specified by you. You can store these mails or print them and file.

    Your financial institution will also keep full details of your payments made by you on your credit/debit card and your biller will also retain the details of the payments received from you.

  • Can I make a payment on behalf of someone else?
  • Yes. You can make payments for someone else; for example a family member or a friend.

  • Can I make a payment while travelling outside India?
  • Yes. You can use BillDesk BillPay when travelling anywhere, provided you can connect to the BillDesk BillPay website. However, your billing address must be within India. At this time the payment service is only available to billers within India and all payments must be made with Indian funds.

  • What cards can I use to make my payments?
  • You can make your payment using any Visa Credit/Debit Card.

  • What will my BillDesk BillPay payments look like on my statement?
  • Payments made using your credit/debit card via BillDesk BillPay will show as 'BILLDESKPAY-BILLER NAME' for example when you make a cellular phone bill payment to Airtel, the narration on your statement will read as 'BILLDESKPAY-AIRTEL CELL'.

  • LOGIN ID, PASSWORD AND PROFILE INFORMATION
  • What should I do if I forget my Login ID or Password?
  • Your Login ID is the email address that you would have specified as your Login ID at the time of registration.

    For your account security purposes, BillDesk BillPay will necessarily require you to remember your Login ID. Failure to correctly remember this ID or its usage in association with the account password will render your account inaccessible.

    If you have forgotten your password, BillDesk BillPay will assist you with the set up of a new password. Go to the BillDesk BillPay website (https://payments.billdesk.com/pb/) and click on 'Forgot Password'. Fill in the verification information that BillDesk BillPay requires to identify you and then click on submit. BillDesk BillPay will automatically assign a new password and mail it to your Email address. Failure to provide the verification information accurately would prevent you from receiving the new password and may render your account inaccessible.

  • How can I change my password?
  • Go to the BillDesk BillPay website (https://payments.billdesk.com/pb/) then click on "Change Password" link in the "Modify Profile" section. You will then be provided with and guided through the option to change your password.

  • Can I change my Login ID?
  • No, BillDesk BillPay does not allow you to change your Login ID for security reasons.

  • What happens if I cancel my BillDesk BillPay account and then sign up again later? Do I have access to all my previous account information?
  • You can sign up with Billdesk BillPay again at any time. You will need to set up a new account with a new Login ID and password. You will not have any access to your previous account information.

  • How do I change what emails I receive?
  • BillDesk BillPay can send you emails to inform you about your BillDesk BillPay account and to advise you of new BillDesk BillPay services. You will automatically receive an e-mail telling you when a bill has arrived, but the other types of e-mail are optional. You can choose which ones you want to receive on the E-mail Notification page in the My Profile - My Details section. For step-by-step instructions on how to choose which e-mails you receive, refer to the Help Topics in the Help section of the service, under the following section: How do I Update My Details.

  • How do I cancel my BillDesk BillPay account?
  • For step-by-step instructions on how to cancel your BillDesk BillPay Account, you Login to BillDesk BillPay and go to the My Profile section. You will be guided through the steps to cancel your account.

  • I live overseas, how do I record an overseas address?
  • Currently our service only allows you to enter an Indian address when you record your contact details. Future plans are in place to allow the service to accept an overseas address. If you currently live overseas, enter your overseas address, but with an Indian state and postcode. Correspondence from BillDesk BillPay is only mainly via email. It is very important for you to keep your email address up to date in this situation.

  • How does BillDesk BillPay protect my card numbers and other personal information from being obtained over the Internet by someone?
  • The security and confidentiality of your personal and financial information is of paramount importance to us. You are provided with best-in-class security standards when it comes to using BillDesk BillPay so that your transactions done through BillDesk BillPay are safe.

    BillDesk BillPay uses Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) data encryption. When you use BillDesk BillPay, your personal and Card information is protected by this SSL technology. This ensures that your card numbers and personal data are never sent over the Internet unencrypted. This encryption is done using 128-bit RC4 encryption, the maximum level of encryption possible on the Internet comparable to security levels used by financial institutions. Information sent between BillDesk BillPay and the financial institutions is totally secure.

  • Is BillDesk BillPay a certified site?
  • BillDesk BillPay is certified by Verisign Inc., one of the leading certifying authorities for web-site security, which reinforces our promise of security.

  • Will my personal information be shared with any other billers? I don't want my name sold to any third parties or included in any mailing list.
  • BillDesk BillPay will not share your name or any other personal information with third parties at any time, except where it is necessary to deliver the service or in response to a legal or court order or specifically authorised by you.   • How do I know that no unauthorised payments will be made from my cards?
  • With BillDesk BillPay you initiate and authorise each and every payment that is made from your card. Therefore in the absence of your Cards no payment can be made using your Card.

  • What if I leave the BillDesk BillPay Web site to go to another Internet site without logging off?
  • When you leave the BillDesk BillPay site to go to another Internet site, you are not automatically logged off. This means that you can return to BillDesk BillPay without having to log back on. BillDesk BillPay does limit the time your session remains open and inactive. After 10 minutes the session expires and you must enter your Login ID and password again to continue using BillDesk BillPay.

    Important: If you share a computer with another person or are using a public computer, make sure you log off from BillDesk BillPay as soon as you finish using the service. If you do not, anyone using your computer has access to your information until the session expires.

  • What if I turn off my computer without logging off?
  • When you turn off your computer, your Internet connection is closed. There is no security issue involved in turning off your computer without logging off. Ideally, the preferred sequence is to log off from the BillDesk BillPay site, close your browser, then shut down your computer. However, as soon as you close your browser, you have disabled the SSL connection between your computer and the BillDesk BillPay site, effectively logging you off.

  • What can I do to maximize the security of My BillDesk BillPay account?
  • You can do several things to increase the security of your account:

    • Do not share your password or user ID with anyone.
    • Change your password frequently. Changing your password every month will make it difficult for others to guess your password.
    • Make sure you log off after using the BillDesk BillPay service. This shuts down the SSL link between your computer and BillDesk BillPay preventing anyone else from using your computer to access the service without supplying your user ID and password.
